Not many law firms offer a free complimentary initial consultation. We prefer it. That first meeting gives you and our firm a chance to make certain that there is a comfort level, so important to the attorney client relationship. We offer consultations at our Hawaii Kai location or our offices at Pacific Guardian Center in town, whichever is most convenient.
If you need a Will or Trust the consultation will include a written price quotation. If you have tax questions or just want to know if you are maximizing deductions, we can help. If you think you have an uncontested divorce, we hope you do, but you need to be certain your rights are protected. Just contact us at 396-4080 to schedule your consultation. Just tell us the subject matter, which office is most convenient and the dates and times that might work. Limited evening and Saturday appointments are available.
It all starts with the first decision and that is deciding to decide and make the call.
At your first consultation we will advise whether we think you need a will or a trust to plan your estate and tell you how much it will cost. Not everybody needs a trust, but if you do we can plan your estate to avoid federal estate taxes, Hawaii inheritance tax and avoid the time expense and headaches of a probate for your heirs.
If you do need a probate, you will most likely need an attorney to file the necessary documents and assist you through the process. If you are a potential heir and are concerned about the handling of an estate or an ongoing probate, give us a call. We will be able to advise you if your concerns are adequately represented or whether you should hire your own attorney.
Psychologists tell us that with the exception of the death of a child, a divorce is the most stressful life experience we encounter. After all it is the death of a relationship that is revered in our culture. We recommend marital counseling. We don’t want your marriage to end, but if it must it should end humanely and that’s why we believe in Mediation. Last year 92% of our Divorce cases ended without litigation. We are excellent litigators but we don’t like to litigate. It’s expensive, wasteful, and highly stressful but, most importantly, the parties lose control of the outcome. This firm litigates aggressively when necessary, but we do see our most essential role as conflict resolution. Litigation is the last resort.
We can help you organize your business and help you decide how to organize: corporation, C Corporation or S Corporation, Limited Liability Company (LLC), partnership, or just stick to being a sole proprietor. We can help you change your business, save payroll taxes and income taxes and maximize every allowable tax deduction.
Diehl and Weger is one of only a few law firms in Hawaii that actually prepares income tax returns. The best part is you get to work with skilled legal and tax professional, but at competitive rates. We also prepare state tax returns for all 50 states. We prepare all types of tax returns from the most simple to the most complex business, estate and trust returns.
We also offer IRS help & audit representation.
Why not take advantage of our complimentary initial consultation? We can answer your questions, make a few suggestions to maximize your deductions, save tax dollars and, if you bring last year’s tax returns, we can give you an on-the-spot price quotation.
We can help you if you receive tax notices and help you work out problems with IRS or the State Department of Taxation. If you have not filed, even for a number of years, we can put you back on track. If you receive an audit notice, we can represent you and negotiate the best possible outcome, sometimes including the reduction or elimination of tax penalties, and protecting your assets.
